The Chivalric Order of the Knights of Justice

Ranks of the Order

The Honours System in British history is a means of rewarding individuals' personal bravery, achievement, help suffering people, or contribution to humanitarian work. As the Head of the Order, the sovereign remains the "fount of honour", but the system for identifying and recognising candidates to honour has changed considerably over time. Various Orders of Knighthood (like the Knights of Justice) have been created as well as awards for humanitarian service, bravery, merit, and achievement which take the form of decorations, medals or ranks.
People occasionally receive honorary Knighthoods, they are dubbed, and they use the style 'Sir'. Such Knighthoods are conferred by heads of Orders of Chivalry, on the advice of other members, on those who have made an important contribution to humanitarian good works programs and to the Order itself.
The Honour of Chivalry comes in four classes for all admissions to the Order in the rank of Companion or above, in the category of Knights of Justice.
Members admitted in all classes are entitled to wear the Order’s Cross of Knights of Justice. All members of the Order must uphold all chivalrous ideals of the Order and shall subscribe to a code of moral ethics consistent with their own principles and beliefs.

The dignity of knighthood conferred by the Knights of Justice, entitling the holder to the title of 'Sir' prefixed to his name. This dignity is not hereditary. The dignity for female is legally entitled to the designation of Dame but by common consent is addressed as Lady. Generally, the addressing of this dignity is correctly 'Sir First Name', but not 'Sir Last Name' (surname).

Descended from mediaeval Chivalry, Knights exist both within the Order of Chivalry as well as in a class (rank) known as granted by the Knights of Justice. The Knighthood carries the title Sir; the female equivalent Dame; only exists within the Order of Chivalry.

The grand title of 'Sir' conferred by the Chivalric Order of the Knights of Justice can be registered in England. This registration gives the distinguished rights of style and address of the grand title of 'Sir'.
